I figured it was time I update my bio. Those of you who already know me (or who don’t care), feel free to skip this one.
My name is Dan Glick. I’m an SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) at Microsoft in the Real-Time Communications group (where I started in November ‘05) and the husband of the lovely and creative Meia Glick. When I am not programming, I am a voracious consumer of things that I am unable to produce, such as good food, writing, music and theatre. I have also been known to engage in outdoor activities on rare occasions.
I was born in Providence, RI in 1981, the younger son of a pair of Jehovah’s Witness evangelists. My parents’ ministry took them to Oceanside, CA the following year and then to Seville, Spain from 1988-94. After the European adventure, we returned to United States and settled in New York, where I was home-schooled (a mixed experience) for four years and then got my Bachelor’s in CS from NYU, graduating in 2002.
In 2003 I was engaged to Meia, moved to Boise (her hometown), and we left the Jehovah’s Witness religion just around the time of our wedding. After a couple of years that have been very interesting in the proverbial sense, we have moved to Seattle, where we hope to stay for a good long while. While I am enjoying my stint as a minion of BillG, my goal is to eventually get my PhD in Computer Science and teach at a university.
After over a decade of living with unidentified chronic fatigue, I recently began treatment for sleep apnea, thanks in part to Andrew Sullivan’s experience. The results have been extremely gratifying.
Finally, I should mention that I am an INFJ. That doesn’t account for all of my quirks, but it helps me explain away a few of them.
(For those who care, here is the bio I wrote when I first created this site.)

Hi, Dan!
So you made it to Seattle! You must have left shortly after the last time I saw you when “Blondie” was in Boise.
Sounds like you’re doing very well.
Give Meia my warm regards.
